For the 2025-26 academic year we are introducing a phased model for Teaching Communities.
Inception Phase
Newly proposed.
Goals are developing.
It may be experimental year, no minimum membership required.
Deliverables will be a summary containing initial insights
(e.g., what gaps does your community fill, what other opportunities exist, etc.)
Continuing Phase (year 2 and 3)
Clearly articulated goals and outcomes.
Stable and/or increasing membership.
Regular meetings.
Community will share takeaways with peers outside of the immediate group.
Mature Phase (year 4 or 5):
Highly functioning.
Growing membership.
Insights or resources are shared through participation in University events (e.g., panels, presentations,
website summaries etc.) to benfit the broader teaching community at Penn State.
